Hi everyone!
The French Net Bag is more than just a bag. It’s a reflection of culture, daily rituals, and a way of life that embraces beauty in every moment. As part of the Threads of the World collection, this piece tells a story through texture, form, and inspiration drawn from different corners of the globe.
Influenced by the rhythm of Parisian mornings and the effortless charm of French style, this bag blends functionality with timeless aesthetics. Light, flexible, and spacious, it’s made to be your everyday companion — practical, yet poetic.
A piece that feels like a journey — one that begins with a dream and continues in the quiet joy of everyday life.
Inspiration
Sometimes, inspiration arrives quietly. It lives in the little images we carry inside — dreams of slow mornings, a fresh baguette wrapped in paper, the warm sun spilling over old rooftops. That’s exactly how the idea for this bag came to me. Long before I ever visited Paris, I imagined a light, netted bag — simple, yet full of charm. Something that holds a bit of slow living, a bit of comfort you can take with you.
And then I found myself in Paris. I would step outside in the morning and the city would unfold gently, like the pages of a beloved book: the scent of fresh pastries, the soft clink of porcelain in cafés, flowers spilling onto sidewalks. Women with net bags passed me by — confident, effortless, beautiful in their everyday grace. That’s when I realized: this kind of accessory isn’t just a bag. It’s a mood. A feeling. It’s about carrying not just your essentials, but a sense of self.
And so, the French Net Bag was born — a piece filled with warmth, morning light, and the spirit of a city that teaches you to savor every moment.
Yarn
For French Net bag, I used a 4mm elastic polyester cord - Likeecords. This cord is perfect for bag-making due to its high strength and resistance to external elements. It provides a sturdy foundation, capable of withstanding various loads while maintaining the shape of the item. With its diameter, the cord gives the bag an elegant and modern appearance, making it a stylish and practical accessory. Please, feel free and use any 4 mm elastic polyester cord what you like.
